The Next Big Step!

Transition to school

The next step in your child’s education journey is an exciting time for tamariki and whānau. At My Treehut we recognise the importance of making this transition as smooth as possible. We want your child to leave My Treehut as a confident learner, with the skills and attitudes in place to succeed in this next stage of their lives. We believe that social and emotional competency is key in their success.

When your tamaiti leaves to go to school we hold a graduation ritual for them. Their time at My Treehut is celebrated by adding their handprint to a special korowai which, when full, is displayed on the wall in our gallery.

We liaise closely with Taupō primary schools to ensure your child is prepared in the best possible way for a positive start to their primary education. Our Transition to School Program for children aged 4 years and over ensures that each child and their family are ready for their first day at primary school.

Our children have successfully transitioned into the following schools; Taupō Primary School, Wairakei Primary School, Marotiri School, Rangitaiki Primary School, Lake Taupō Christian School, Hilltop Primary School, Waipahihi Primary School, St. Patrick’s Primary School, Mountview Primary School, Tauhara Primary School as well as into Homeschooling.
